I’m finally getting around to looking at some of the images from my wildlife photography workshop in California. It was a great photography workshop with great clients and a fabulous Yosemite valley setting. These bobcats were awesome to photograph, so photogenic!
Collective Nouns and Other Fun Facts
There are three (that I know of) collective nouns for bobcats- a tantrum, a clutter and a clowder. I have no idea what those words have to do with a bobcat, but there you have it. I personally think that a tail of bobcats would be much better!
- Males are called Torn
- Females are called Queen
- Baby bobcats are called kittens
- Weight: 16 to 30 pounds (7.3 to 14 kg) [male]; 20 pounds (9.1 kg) [female]
- Length: 26 to 41 in (66 to 104 cm)
- Tail Length: 4 to 7 in (10 to 18 cm)
- Habitat: Woods, forest, swamps and semi-desert areas
- Lifespan: 10 to 12 years
