The Sony RX-100M3 is the camera that I never leave home without grabbing it on the way out the door. I love its size and versatility, and I know that I can count on the performance. One of the accessories that I also love is the MAG Filter from Mogopod.

The Sony-RX100M3 does not come with threads for you to attach a screw on filter. Enter the MAGFilter; it allows you add the filter of your choice to the Sony via a brilliant and elegant magnetic connector. You attach a metal band to the camera and then just click the filter adapter onto the lens. Simple and fairly robust too. I have accidentally knocked it off, but it takes a pretty good whack…

Filters for Sony RX-100M3

I use two filters a circular polarizer and a closeup filter with mine, and they work flawlessly. You can buy 52mm / 55mm / 58mm filter versions for the RX-100. If you already have filters for one of those sizes, then you are all set. Otherwise, you will need to buy the filters that you want to use. I always use the B&W filters and yes they are typically the most expensive, but do you want to use something that is less the best for your images?

B&W Closeup Filter

The B&W closeup filters provide the ability to take “macro” shots with a normal lens. You can get some pretty cool shots and shooting at F1.8 on the Sony RX-100M3 you can get some great depth of field, like the aster below.
