Project Description

Chital Deer Bharatpur India Photo Workshop

India’s Wildlife and Taj Mahal Photography Workshop

India is vast, and traveling a country that size takes a lot of time.  When we planned our Tiger Safari, we created an itinerary that was mainly about the tigers. With that goal, we chose the two best parks for tigers for our 11-day Safari. We then developed a second Safari with greater wildlife diversity and included the iconic Taj Mahal.

This Safari is terrific as a stand-alone, or you can create the ultimate trip to India by adding this trip as an extension.

Our first stop is Corbett National Park. If I had to choose just one park in India, it would be Corbett. It’s unbelievably beautiful, and it’s chockful of wildlife. Here we may see Tigers, but they are not common. We should see many big mammals, including the elephant.

We take a break from wildlife and travel to Agra and the Taj Mahal. It is one of the most recognizable monuments in the world. Our private guide will fill in the details of its creation. It will blow your mind.

Last but way far from least is the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary. This UNESCO World Heritage site is filled to the treetops with birds and wildlife. With nearly 500 bird species confirmed, it’s a bird photographer’s dream. We will be there during migration, so who knows what exotic avian will greet us.

You have a big decision! Which photography workshop to take. Hint, there is no wrong answer. It does bring the adage to mind that two are better than one! Both are magical and worthy of their bucket-list status.

Coming Soon!

Check back later, it’s way too soon to tell you what to expect.

I’ve been very passively advising my clients to purchase travel insurance for a while, but lately it seems like there have been multiple people having travel issues. Some have lost their deposits and sometimes even the cost of the entire trip!

Based on my client’s experience, I cannot stress more strongly how crucial it is to purchase travel insurance. Like I said before, and here it comes again, there is never a way to predict what is going to happen when you are booking trips months and years into the future.

You can read more about my thoughts about the importance of travel insurance in this blog post.

Corbett National Park

Corbett has aptly been described as the land of the Roar, Trumpet, and Song. It represents a scene of remarkable beauty. Corbett had the proud distinction of being the chosen venue for the inauguration of Project Tiger in India. The rich biodiversity of the Reserve is attributed to the variety of habitats and its proximity to the Himalayas.

Corbett has aptly been described as the land of the Roar, Trumpet, and Song. It represents a scene of remarkable beauty. Corbett had the proud distinction of being the chosen venue for the inauguration of Project Tiger in India. The rich biodiversity of the Reserve is partly attributed to the variety of habitats found here in the Himalayan foothills.

India’s first and finest park is spread over 520 sq. km. Established initially as Hailey National Park on August 8, 1936, in honor of Sir Malcolm Hailey, then governor of the United Provinces, the name was changed to Ramganga National Park in 1952. In 1957, it was finally named Corbett National Park in honor and memory of the late Jim Corbett. Jim was a legendary hunter, naturalist-turned-author, and photographer. He was instrumental in setting up the park and demarcating its boundaries.

Bharatpur’s diverse habitats are home to 450 bird species, 379 floral species, 50 species of fish, 13 species of snakes, 5 species of lizards, 7 amphibian species, 7 turtle species, and a variety of other invertebrates. Every year thousands of migratory waterfowl visit the park for wintering and breeding. The sanctuary is one of the most diverse bird areas globally. The sanctuary is known for nesting resident birds and seeing migratory birds from Asia.
