The Texas Bird Photography Workshop is the result of my enthusiasm for Bird Photography and willingness to share a couple of decades of experience as a professional wildlife photographer and workshop instructor.

I’ve been photographing birds all over the world for the past 20 years, and I find it to be an incredibly rewarding photographic adventure. I have about 1500 species in my photography portfolio now, and I never get tired of photographing our feathered friends. Magazines like Audubon, Arizona Highways, and Birders World have published my bird photography. My images are used extensively in the best selling birding app, iBird, helping many birders ID their sightings. Bird photography has now become a passion of mine, and I would love to share my enthusiasm and expertise with you on a fantastic Texas Bird Photography Workshop.

Join me in the Rio Grande Valley during the peak of the northern bird migration, and we’ll photograph some beautiful birds. The birds will be in stunning locations on perfect perches. With fingers crossed, you will create award-winning publishable images. Or even better social media bragging photos to share with your friends, family, and followers!

Who knows how many of the more than 100 possible species we will find, but when we do they will be right where we want them, in front of your camera. We will be photographing from blinds that have feeders and freshwater to get up close, without fear of spooking the birds away. We will create beautiful natural perches and perfect non-existent backgrounds so your images will be perfect!

Along with a local expert with hundreds if not thousands of hours photographing birds in Texas, we will help you create your best bird photography images. You’ll learn about the birds, you’ll learn about your gear, and you’ll learn how to create stunning bird photography images!

You should join this workshop if:

  • you can walk 20 yards
  • withstand potential 100-degree weather
  • sit in a chair and point and click your camera
  • have a passion for bird photography
