I’ve been visiting the 7L Ranch (thank you Diane) near Mariposa as part of my latest photography workshop for Photographers Alliance Workshops and managed to get a few new inhabitants for my birdhouse! It’s great fun to be able to photograph these new (to me) species even though they are fairly common in the foothills of the Sierra’s near Yosemite National Park. I’ll be posting more birds and my shots from the workshop in the next few days…wait until you see the Western images from our day on the ranch…again, thanks Diane!
- Acorn Woodpecker, Melanerpes formicivorus
- Black Phoebe, Sayornis nigricans
- California Towhee, Pipilo crissalis
- California Quail, Callipepla californica. Also Valley Quail
- Western Scrub-Jay, Aphelocoma californica
