Landscape Photography?!? Yes, you read that correctly, I photographed some landscapes and I actually liked it! Shhh, please don’t tell David (Middleton) his heart can’t take it! I suppose if you read my previous post about the flowers this is not that much of a stretch, but it is not my forte and so I have been practicing! I am also fascinated by time lapse photography and have been wanting to give that a go too.
I love the Many Glacier Area of the park and staying at the St. Mary Lodge makes that a whole lot easier than commuting from Kalispell! There are usually fewer people in this far northeastern part of the park and this is by far the best place in the park to see moose and grizzly bears. You might need a spotting scope, but you can see them with some regularity!

I just bought the latest and perhaps greatest compact camera, the Sony RX-100M3 and it rocks! I absolutely loved using it on this trip and it made the time lapse a breeze. It’s my first real time lapse and it was all done in the camera, I hate to say point and shoot, but well that is pretty much what happens. I set it up and left it. It took 40 mnutes of shooting to make the 10 seconds or so of time lapse video. It’s too bad the sunrise was rather blah that day, but it was my first time and I had to share! Anyway, I dolled it up with some music and some other stuff in iMovie (Final Cut Pro has been downloaded), but otherwise the Sony did all of the work.
