One of my favorite birds from my Costa Rica trip were the honeycreepers. Small brightly colored birds that are in the tanager family. They feed mostly on nectar and fruits. This species has sexual dimorphism (not contagious!) which just means the feathers are different between the make and the female. For example the male Green Honeycreeper is bright blue!

You know how much I love collective nouns and could not find an “official” one, so I’ve taken it upon myself to provide the group name…Hive! Come on you have to love a hive of honeycreepers!

You can see my hive and order prints…HERE.
