Cougar Photos are among the most popular in my portfolio. I have been photographing Cougars on my workshops for more than a decade and am actually photographing third generation Cougar kittens! I never get tired of these amazing animals. They are so majestic and athletic and need I mention photogenic? I hope you enjoy my Cougar photos and maybe learn something new…

In Case you Were Curious About Cougars

  • also known as the Mountain Lion, Puma, Panther, Painter, Mountain Cat, Catamount, Mexican Lion, Devil Cat, Silver Lion or Mountain Screamer
  • can jump almost 20 feet high and pounce on unsuspecting prey 20-40 feet away
  • length of adult males is around 2.4 meters (8 ft) long nose to tail
  • weigh 53 to 90 kilograms (115 to 198 pounds)
  • the largest cat that can purr
  • Collective Noun: a Range of cougars

I’m OK with range as a collective noun for these cats, but with their prodigious powers of levitation, don’t you think a Leap would be better?
