I’ve taken hundreds of Bobcat photos over the years, but I have to say this is my best year ever. The ranch had several generations from 6 weeks old to yearlings to full grown animals. It’s pretty cool to work with these animals and see all of the generations and you get to see how their personalities develop too which is pretty sweet. That is for sure a big benefit of photographing wildlife models as we do during several of my photography workshops.

Interesting Facts about Bobcats

  • They weigh 16-28 lbs (7-12 k) and males are larger
  • They have a very loud fierce growl that sounds like a much bigger animal
  • They are good swimmers
  • Males are called Torn and females are Queens
  • Collective Noun: a Tantrum, a Clowder or a Clutter

Well you may have already guessed that I don’t like a collective noun like clowder or clutter! I’ve seen them through a tantrum though and I like how that works out.

Bobcat Photos

Here are a few of the Bobcat images from my summer workshops. I’m so happy that the juvenile still has his baby blue eyes!
