As a wildlife photographer it is nice to live in a target rich area like Florida. We have a lot (510 species) of birds to photograph and Ft. DeSoto is one of my all time favorite locations. First it is in my neighborhood and as my friend David Middleton points out- all the time, shooting locally is far easier than traveling. I’ve photographed at the park a hundred times and it is always a delight. Even when the photography is slow, a couple miles of huge white sand beaches is not a tough way to spend the morning.
Just to give you an idea, here is a gallery of images that I took at the park one morning. You can see all of my images and order prints…HERE.[nggallery id=94]
To be fair the duck and the eagle where taken just outside the park at Tierra Verde. Both are seen in the park, just didn’t happen to do so this week. Here is a map to make it all clear.[xmlgm ngg_gallery=94]
