Winter Birds

Northern Cardinal in Snow - Jeff Wendorff Photographer

Cardinal in the winter

While I was at my mom’s house for Christmas, I took advantage of the her bird feeder. I shot these images through the kitchen window and was toasty warm all the while! The trick to success is to keep the lens parallel to the glass. Fortunately, her bird feeder is at just such an angle. [nggallery id=18]

What lovely images even through a window.

What I would give to see a Cardinal again. Stayed in Birmingham Alabama for a while, long before I had a decent camera and saw a Red Cardinal. I had no idea what it was and had to ask. I am from Scotland so I obviously would not have known what it was.
Everything was new to me and the people I worked for were amused at my “what’s that bird?”, “there was weird animal eating the cat food last night.” (probably a Possum) ” Is that stick moving?” lol

Would love to go to America again with my camera this time.
    Once again, beautiful images.Well done.
